Last week, many of DSISD’s students from Gender Sexuality Alliance attended DPS’s first all-district LGBTQ+ & Allies Student Banquet! Students were able to come into community across schools in order to celebrate and support each other; they heard from national and district keynote speakers, engaged in Empowerment Sessions, and enjoyed student performances.
We would like to share a special celebration and thank you for Milo and Alastor, who facilitated the only student-led Empowerment Session of the day by running an LGBTQ+ Jeopardy Game. Several members of GSA helped to curate trivia tidbits as a way to celebrate LGBTQ+ History Month in October. Because of Milo and Alastor’s leadership, 20 students from other schools were able to come together to laugh, compete, and celebrate their knowledge of the community’s history, figures, facts, and pop culture. We’re so proud of you!
