Day of Silence

Posted: Apr 23, 2020

This Friday, April 24 marks the 25th anniversary of the Day of Silence a national student led protest of the silencing and erasure of the LGBTQ people.

This year the Day of Silence is going virtual! You can sign up to participate in the virtual Day of Silence sponsored by GLSEN here.

DSISD student Noah Jimmerson created this piece of artwork for this year’s Day of Silence. Jimmerson says:

“the lyrics are from Cradles by Sub Urban. I think these lyrics really apply to the community’s voice being muffled and what’s really going on being warped to fit the majorities comfort, regardless of how many people that get hurt or killed because of it, the community will be heard for their silence.”
