DSISD students are tomorrow’s innovators, leaders and change makers.
Founded in 2015, Denver School of Innovation and Sustainable Design (DSISD) dares to reimagine learning, achievement and a future where every student is prepared to succeed. DSISD offers a rigorous curriculum in humanities and STEM based core classes, and empowers all students to take personal ownership of their education and reach their potential. We provide students with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in college and their careers and play meaningful roles as citizens of the 21st century.
The DSISD Difference
DSISD offers small classes, personalized learning plans and a 12 to 1 student-educator ratio in most classrooms. Students have access to the most technologically advanced learning tools, including a Chromebook for every student and a state-of-the-art technology lab equipped with a laser cutter and 3d printer. Our curriculum is project-based with many opportunities for students to learn the essential soft skills of effective communication and collaboration. In our competency based model, we also support students in developing habits of self-directed learners. Upon entering our Upper House (11th and 12th grades) students will have the opportunity to decide on which pathway is best for them, whether a residency youth apprenticeship or possibly an internship that will prepare them with real-world skills aligned to careers. They will have support from community mentors and an opportunity to earn up to 60 college credits in our program.
