Who We Are
DSISD students are tomorrow’s innovators, leaders and change makers.
Founded in 2015, Denver School of Innovation and Sustainable Design (DSISD) dares to reimagine learning, achievement and a future where every student is prepared to succeed. DSISD offers a rigorous curriculum in humanities and STEM-based CORE classes and empowers all students to take personal ownership of their education and reach their potential. We provide students with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in college and their careers and play meaningful roles as citizens of the 21st century.
DSISD is located at the Morey Campus (840 E. 14th Ave) and offers small classes, personalized learning plans and a 12 to 1 student-educator ratio in most classrooms. Students have access to the most technologically advanced learning tools, including a Chromebook for every student and a state-of-the-art technology lab equipped with a 3d printer. Our curriculum includes self-directed learning opportunities, collaborative projects, internships, support from community mentors and an opportunity to earn up to 45 college credits.
DSISD is Denver’s first competency learning high school. Competency learning is an education model where students and educators design individualized learning pathways based on each student’s strengths and interests. DSISD’s competency education model allows students to start where they are and advance as they acquire new skills and knowledge and demonstrate an ability to apply them. Once students show mastery at one level, they can advance to the next without waiting for the next school year; if students have gaps in skills, they will be provided with the support they need to move forward.
We invite you to join our team of pioneers and innovators in education.
