Modified Schedule/ 2 PM Early Release on Wednesday 4/26 

Spring Recharge: Providing Space for Application and Reflection
We try to balance the amount of sustained academic focus student have with opportunities to learn outside of the classroom and school. As such, we have our April College Readiness Day and early release on Wednesday April 26th. We will run an alternative schedule on this day that will have students engaging in the following activities:
  • Visiting Universities: CSU Fort Collins and the Auraria Campus
  • AP Prep: engaging in targeted AP (Advanced Placement) prep sessions from 10-2
  • Summer Internship Workshop: taking a summer internship preparation workshop from 8-4 on Wednesday and Thursday
  • Targeted Academic Support: students who need additional support to maintain grades and completion

Welcome Back to School…Let’s Make 16-17 A Year to Remember!

We are excited to welcome our second class of 9th graders and a number of incoming 10th graders for the 16-17 school year. Please see below for key information that will help students and families get the year off with a great start:

8/25 (6-8 PM) 2016-17 Back to School Innovator Launch Night 
DSISD staff is excited to spend the evening of 8/25 with students and families. DSISD’s Back to school Innovator Launch Night is designed to:
-Build relationships between students, families, and advisors
-Support parents with understanding the student daily experience at DSISD and the parent role
-Help students and families understand the flow of the school year and notable events that should be anticipated (Student Led Conferences, Service Learning, Demonstration of Learning Exhibition nights, and more
Light snacks and drinks will be provided. Please be ready to come out and learn alongside your child.

School Supplies

The supply list below represents the general supplies that are required for a student to maximize her or his experience at DSISD. Students may have additional supplies, if they support the student’s learning style. Please consult your childs Advisor with questions related to additional supplies:
  • 7 college lined notebooks (200 page- one for each class) (All Classes)
  • 3 binders 2″ (DMF, Science, and Math)
  • 20 pens (All Classes)
  • 20 #2 pencils (All Classes)
  • Multicolor Highlighters  (All Classes)
  • 2 sets of dividers (Science and DMF)
  • 1-2 reams of loose leaf paper (100-200 pages) (DMF, Science, and Math)
  • 1-2 reams of graph paper (100-200 pages) (Math)
  • 3 Packages of Sticky Notes (3X3) (All Classes)
  • 1 box of Kleenex (School)
  • TI-84(PLUS) Graphing Calculator (Math)

3 Ways to Choice in:
  • In Person: You can complete Choice paperwork in person at DSISD’s front office (3rd floor/ 150 South Pearl St.)
  • Through Parent Portal: Current DPS parents can enage in the Choice process through parent portal accounts. Parent Portal Choice information can be found here.
